16/02/2014 Please let me apologies on behalf of the club for the marshaling error which affected so many of you. The confusion due in part to the last minute course changes we were forced to put in place in order not to disappoint you all as parts of the original course were flooded. As ex runners ourselves we share your frustration, I know it is no consolation but as a club, having put in so much preparation for the event, all by volunteers who receive no reward for their time and efforts apart from the satisfaction of a job well done, believe me we really feel it when things don't go as planned.
On the results sheet we have recorded the position and time at the finish line. I have also added a 2nd time for one runner who recorded his 13.1 mile time on his personal satellite device. You will also note that some runners have been recorded twice and these numbers are highlighted in red. Any verification of these results would be appreciated.
Wrexham AAC would like you for taking part in todays race at least we were blessed with remarkable weather and we hope the day was not spoilt too much for you all.
Course update 12th February 2014 @ 22:00 - I have just taken a call from Pete Norman our course director informing me that after his course inspection earlier in the week some of the lanes towards the Holt area are flooded. Further inspection today indicating that the flood has become deeper. Update 14th Feb 2014 Peter Norman has arranged for an alternative route to avoid the flooded roads and at the current time the race is STILL ON. Please visit this site again before Sunday for any further updates
Also you will notice that we have not cashed your entry cheques yet. This we will do immediately after the race. Again this is due to potential cancellation due to bad weather. Shredding cheques is much easier than our club treasurer writing out and posting over 500 refund cheques.

So what do you need to know for race day?
Parking and race HQ : Is at the Club House, for those with sat nav their post code is LL13 9PQ for those of you who like me do not have a sat nav the club house have a very nice web site with lots of information about themselves including a “find us page” which contains direction from the major routes in to Wrexham and a map. You can click on web address to navigate to the Club House web site. http://www.wrexhamclubhouse.co.uk/find-us/ or Click on the post code above for Google maps link.
Parking: Please follow the directions of the parking marshals.
Warming up and down: It is important that warming up or down does not take place on Prysmian property. Prysmian have been kind enough to allow us use of their car park for overflow parking however for security reasons we have been requested not to use their property for warming up.
Registration: Is in the main Club House building. This year on the left hand side as you enter the main building, the area where food and drinks are served. Registration is only required if you have chosen to collect your number on the day. Please arrive in good time to collect your number as the start is at 11:00am prompt and is a short walk from the Club House so ensure you leave plenty of time to pin on your number and make your way to the start. No further registration is required if you have your number, you may make your way to the start as soon as you are ready.
Toilets: There are 3 lots available, in the entrance, rear bar and changing rooms.
The Start: As mentioned above the start is a short walk from the Club House about 5 mins (Please allow a little longer the start may be a little further away due to the re-arranged course due to the flooding) depending on your walking speed so please arrive in good time to park, warm up, pin on your number (For those running for the first time your number is pinned to the front.) The race starts at 11:00am prompt
During the race: It is important that you remember that this race takes place on open roads and traffic will present at times. Very important that you take personal responsibility for your own safety whilst running, obey the instructions of race marshals, keep to the left mind the traffic and run safe. Look out for any direction signs and ensure you use the drinks stations (Water) to keep hydrated during your run. The use of personal music equipment is not permitted for your own safety during the race
The Finish: Is at the Club House at the entrance to the car park. It is important that this area is kept clear and that we do not cause a hazard on the road. Please clear the finish area as soon as you finish by proceeding in to the Club House ground away from the road. If you decide to go for warm down run then you must either remove your number or cover it up. It has been known for runners to get recorded as a finisher for a second time!
Pre and post race massages: Will be available for a charge £10 please see Delyth in the registration area to book yours on the day . Delyth can also provide kinesio taping for runners prior to the race and points out that the day before is best. If you are unlucky enough to pick up an injury during the race, kinesio taping can help with recovery. Should you wish to contact Delyth prior to or after the race her contact detail can be seen on her business card.
